The short version
DiskLED does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your disk activity stays on your Mac and is never sent anywhere.
Data collection
DiskLED does not collect any data whatsoever. The app reads disk I/O statistics from macOS (via IOKit) purely to display activity indicators in the menu bar. These statistics are processed in memory and never saved to disk, logged, or transmitted over a network.
Analytics and tracking
DiskLED does not include any analytics frameworks, tracking pixels, crash reporting tools, or telemetry of any kind. The app makes no network connections.
Speed Test and Stress Test
The Speed Test and Stress Test features write temporary files to folders you choose, measure performance, then delete those files immediately. No test results or file data leave your Mac.
In-App Purchases
Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. DiskLED does not process, store, or have access to any payment information.
Third-party services
DiskLED does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs beyond Apple's StoreKit framework for In-App Purchase processing.
User preferences
Your settings (LED colours, sensitivity, size preferences) are stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. These preferences never leave your device.
Children's privacy
DiskLED does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Since DiskLED collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
